Description
The Chronomite R48L/240 has been developed to provide dependable instantaneous hot water for emergency eye wash units. Its low activation design allows the heater to operate efficiently with low flow rates, making it particularly suitable for safety wash stations and eyewash installations.
Using advanced electronic temperature management, the unit responds instantly to fluctuations in water flow and inlet temperature, helping maintain a stable outlet temperature while eliminating the need for stored hot water.
Supplying Tepid Water for Emergency Eyewash Systems
Emergency eyewash stations should provide a continuous supply of tepid water to encourage users to flush affected eyes or skin for the full recommended duration following a chemical exposure. In the UK, BS EN 15154 recommends that emergency eyewash and safety shower equipment supplies water between 15°C and 37°C, with an optimum range of 20°C to 28°C. Delivering water within this temperature range helps reduce the risk of cold shock or thermal injury, improving user comfort during prolonged flushing. The Chronomite R-48L/240 is ideally suited for use with appropriately designed tempered water systems, providing dependable hot water as part of an emergency eyewash installation.
